Striving to Augment Quality, Traceability, and Sustainability of Ethiopian Coffee.
Ethiopian Coffee Association (ECA) was founded in 1969 by major Ethiopian coffee exporters as a non-profit making and major promoter of Ethiopian Coffee in the international market. It is representing Ethiopian coffee sector value chain actors, from smallholder coffee farmers to exporters. It is a member of SCA, AFCA, and SCAJ at the international level and comprising of most Ethiopian smallholder and commercial coffee farmers, processors, roasters, and exporters.
As of June, 2020, ECA has 258 members, providing for more than 85% and 90% of the country’s coffee export share in terms of value and volume, respectively.
The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), International Coffee Organization (ICO), Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan (SCAJ), and the African Fine Coffee Association are all affiliates (AFCA). Under the commitments bestowed upon it, the Association intends to maximize the volume of coffee exported on the worldwide market. As a result, ECA has established the following VISION, MISSION, and VALUES.
